The hazelnut industry in Shandong Province has developed rapidly and has become the second main production area. In order to select and breed hazelnut varieties suitable for Shandong and Huaihe region, the company and Shandong economic forest management station jointly build Shandong forestry science and technology innovation project hazelnut new variety breeding and cultivation technology research Zhucheng Huashan regional comparative test area construction project.

The project introduced 48 varieties of hazelnut from Pingou, and the seed player (No. 49) selected by Zhucheng hazelnut Research Institute for six years participated in the selection together. There were 49 varieties! This is the first time in the history of hazel in China. The row spacing of planting plants is 2X3m, the height of fixed stem is 40 – 60cm, and the single stem is open center tree type.
